I Will Service Your Old Watch

After gaining a lot of experience (much much more than written about here) as a watchmaker/repairer, I have decided to offer service of your vintage mechanical watch on a private, non-commercial, purely passionate basis.

I have worked on vintage Tudor, Rolex, Omega, and many other brand watches including Heuer, Bulova, Hamilton, Gruen, Sheffield, and both column wheel and cam lever chronograph movements by Lemania, Zenith, Omega, and Valjoux. I have experience with most ETA movements as well as alarm movements.

Services offered:
– Full non cosmetic restoration of vintage time pieces, including a full tear down of the watch’s movement, cleaning, assembly, oiling and regulation.
– Repair and replacement of any worn or defective parts in the watch movement as part of the full service.
– Changing of gaskets, crowns, and other consumable parts.

At this time, cosmetic services are limited to dial and hands re-luming (only if requested). Case polishing and re-plating are not offered at this time, nor do I recommend it 99% of the time.

I am fully equipped with high quality tools and magnification as if I were a professional. I am offering this service because it makes little sense for me to continue buying watches to fix that I will never wear. I enjoy doing it and want to bring your old watch back to life, especially if they mean something to you.

Rates:
Rates are dependent on the scope of your project. Since this is pro-amateuer grade, I am happy to meet your budget, especially if your watch is sentimental, and perhaps has little monetary value.

Typical manual wind or automatic Swiss lever movements will be $350 + parts

Chronograph movements $600-1200 + parts

Pin Lever Escapement movements $250 + Parts.

Odd job (dial swap etc) $100 + Parts.

Parts are obtained locally from various supply houses and sold to you at cost + 10%. If you are the only reason I went to the supply house, there is a $25 parking fee. Parts from eBay have simple receipts to collect reimbursements. Some supply houses write on the back of a napkin in hebrew and provide no itemized receipt. You’ll have to take my word for the costs.

Turn around time is 1-3 weeks. This is my night time and weekend hobby when I’m not fixing synthesizers for big money.

Yes, I accept mail in jobs. You can ship it directly to Rosen Sound.
